Wilhelm (S.E.A.) Pte. Ltd. have recognized the emerging market of cladding or weld overlay applications. From here, it had invested and pioneered itself in the precision welding services by the state-of-the-art technology of Hot-wire TIG and LASER cladding processes. Both have complete automation features operated by highly trained personnel to ensure consistent and excellent quality welds.

WHAT IS WELD OVERLAY CLADDING?
Weld overlay cladding is a surfacing variation of welding that deposits or applies surface material usually to improve corrosion, heat or wear resistance.
Weld overlay cladding provides a metallurgical bond between the layer of corrosion, heat or wear resistant material to base material (or substrate) and yet, enabling the cladded part to behave as one material.
WHY CHOOSE WELD OVERLAY CLADDING?
Compared to carbon and low-alloyed steels, corrosion resistant alloys (or CRAs) are generally expensive due to relatively high amount of alloying elements such as chromium, nickel, copper, molybdenum, niobium, cobalt, etc. wherein the combined effects offer greater corrosion or wear resistance.
In most cases, corrosion resistance is required only on part internals – that is the area which is in contact with the corrosive or erosive medium. Weld overlay cladding has the advantage that the base material (or substrate) can be clad internally (or externally) with the choice material. Weld overlay cladding can save up to 60% of total cost of using solid CRA material. Clad materials are widely used in the chemical process, offshore oil production, oil refining and electric power generation industries.
